Looking Back on WVU Commit Treysen Eaglestaff’s 51-Point Game

With one of the nation’s top transfer guards headed to WVU, it’s time to look back on his best individual performance to date.

Back on March 7, Treysen Eaglestaff exploded for a career-high 51 points while leading his team to a win the quarterfinals of the Summit League Tournament. Thanks to Eaglestaff’s monster game, North Dakota upset South Dakota State 85-69.

Eaglestafff’s 51-point game was the highest scoring single-game for any Disjoin I player during the 2024-25 season. He also broke the Summit League Championship single-game scoring record, the North Dakota Division I single-game scoring record and became just the fifth player in conference history to score 50 or more points in any game.

Eaglestaff even added four rebounds and four assists to go along with his 51 points.

Eaglestaff’s agent confirmed his client’s commitment to Jeff Goodman of The Field of 68on Sunday.

Eaglestaff now gives Ross Hodge his top transfer recruit in his first offseason as WVU’s head coach. To further emphasize the magnitude of landing Eaglestaff, he picked the Mountaineers over BYU, Gonzaga and Washington.

Eaglestaff initially committed to transfer to South Carolina on March 30, but then quickly decided to re-open his recruitment. Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan and UCLA also showed interest in Eaglestaff.

The 6-foot-6, 190-pound guard averaged 18.9 points, 2.8 rebounds and 2.4 assists this year North Dakota during the 2024-25 season. In fact, he scored over 1,300 total points and made 221 three-pointers throughout his three-year career at North Dakota.

Eaglestaff owns a career shooting percentage of 41.6% from the field and 37.1% from three.
