The WVU football program’s interest in getting more production from the tight end position isn’t just about this season with transfer Kole Taylor. The Mountaineers are also putting an emphasis in recruiting the position, and that’s again evident with three-star Aidan Steinfeldt.

The class of 2024 tight end out of Bloomington North High School in Bloomington, Indiana. Steinfeldt will even be back in Morgantown later this week. On Monday, he tweeted about his upcoming trip and that he’s going to be at practice on Thursday.

Listed at 6’5″ and 245 pounds, Steinfeldt is a conscious three-star prospect with offers from several major programs, including West Virginia. WVU extended him an offer back in January during his last appearance on campus.

National recruiting outlets like On3.com, Rivals and 247 Sports all rank Steinfeldt among the top 15 overall recruits from Indiana. On3.com classifies him as the number 45 tight end in the country while 247 places him as high as 31.

In addition to West Virginia, Steinfeldt’s offers have come from Indiana, Miami (OH), Minnesota and Western Michigan. Notre Dame, Michigan State, Ohio State Colorado, Purdue and Wisconsin are other major programs who have shown interest in him as well.

The WVU program has made it clear they are looking for tight ends who can both block and also serve as another receiver in the passing game. Steinfeldt would definitely bring these attributes to the Mountaineers.
