2025 DL Evan Powell Proclaims Commitment to WVU Football
Evan Powell, a Maryland 2025 defensive lineman, is locked in with the WVU football program, committing to West Virginia on Tuesday morning.
Powell announced his commitment by posting a narrated video detailing his journey on social media.

Listed at 6-foot-4 and 245 pounds, Powell recorded 78 tackles, 17 tackles for a loss and 10 sacks during his junior season for Huntington High School in Huntington, Md. Powell, who has experience at both defensive tackle and defensive end, is viewed as an Edge rusher in college.
Powell also excels in multiple events for his schoolโs track team.
In addition to the Mountaineers, an offer that didnโt come until April of this year, Powell has offers from Buffalo, JMU, Kent State, Marshall, Memphis and Old Dominion. He even has offers to consider from both Army and Navy. The Marshall and Memphis offers are the most recent from that group.
Like many others, Powellโs commitment comes following a great official visit and further solidifies WVUโs 2025 class as one deserving of national recognition.
