2027 3-Star RB to Take OV After Trip to Big 12 Foe

To further their pursuit of possible two-way players, the WVU football program will welcome James Johnson in for an official visit in June.

Johnson, a 2027 product out of Belleville, Ill., announced his full weekend trip is scheduled for June 19-21, traveling to West Virginia a month after making a trip to another Big 12 program.

WVU offered Johnson at the of March, joining a reciting race that already included Cincinnati, Illinois, Nebraska and Utah. Johnson also has non Power Four offers from Bowling Green, Charlotte, Missouri State, North Dakota State, Wyoming and a few others.

Mostly being recruited as a safety, Johnson, listed at 6-foot-3 and 185 pounds, also plays wide receiver in high school. He’s ranked as a top 30 player in Illinois and a top safety nationally for his class.
