DB Kwantel Raines Signs LOI

Published

on

One of the prizes of the 2018 recruiting class has made it official. Kwantel Raines (Aliquippa, Pa) has signed his National Letter of Intent and plans to enroll at West Virginia. Raines was definitely going to be a challenge to get for the Mountaineers having to out-recruit Pitt and Penn State among others. Raines looks to keep the tradition alive at safety being the 3rd consecutive hard hitter to wear No.8 for the Mountatineers (Karl Joseph, Kyzir White).

Raines was a must get for West Virginia, not just because of how good he is, but losing Kyzir White this year and Dravon Askew-Henry following 2018 the secondary needs some future “stud” talent. Expect Raines to be able to play a bunch as a true freshman, similar to the freshman year of Kenny Robinson.

Raines will be enrolling in June.
