Carter & Konate receive NBA combine invites

According to multiple sources, West Virginia senior guard Jevon Carter and sophomore forward Sagaba Konate have been invited to the 2018 NBA Combine.

Carter, a two-time NABC Defensive player of the year and the inaugural winner of the Naismith national defensive player of the year is currently a projected 2nd round pick.

The NBA combine should do nothing but help the face of, “Press Virginia”. Earlier in the season, ESPN analyst Fran Fraschilla commented on Carter being at the combine saying he will be an annoyance to some of the offensive driven player in attendance.

Sophomore Sagaba Konate is still undecided if he will return to West Virginia or officially enter the NBA Draft. Many mock drafts have Konate going undrafted or extremely late in the 2nd round. Mock drafts for next year project him to be a top 20 pick or possibly even a lottery pick.

As avid NBA fans know, most 2nd round picks in the NBA do not become much of a force in the league and is a much steeper climb than those selected in the first 30 picks. Second round picks have been successful before, but I would expect Konate sees the writing on the wall and returns to Morgantown for his junior campaign.
