The Big 12 news in basketball offseason news has picked up over the last day or two. Over the weekend, WVU received a commitment from Syracuse’s Jesse Edwards. Texas Tech forward Jaylon Tyson also entered the transfer portal. After that, there has been even more news around the conference. Let’s take a look.

Baylor G Adam Flagler Declares for Draft

Three-year Baylor guard Adam Flagler announced on Monday that he is declaring for the NBA Draft. Flagler was apart of the 2021 National Championship roster.

Flagler (6-foot-3) averaged 15.6 points and 4.6 assists for the Bears this past season. Flagler was named to the All-Big 12 First Team as well.

Flagler joins Keyonte George (draft) and LJ Cryer (portal) as the top guards to leave Baylor this offseason.

VCU Transfer Jayden Nunn Commits to Bears

Not even 24 hours after Flagler put his name in the draft, Scott Drew picked up his first commitment of the transfer portal offseason with VCU guard Jayden Nunn.

Nunn, a rising junior, spent two seasons at VCU under Mike Rhoades. Rhoades replaces Miach Shrewsberry as Penn State’s head coach, leading Nunn to enter the portal. Nunn averaged 9.3 points on 43 percent shooting from the field and 40 percent shooting from three.

Nunn will for sure be in contention to make immediate impact during his first season in Waco.

Iowa State Gets Commitment From Curtis Jones

Iowa State continues to receive commitments from the transfer portal, receiving one from Buffalo guard Curtis Jones on Monday. Jones was an All-MAC Third Team recipient.

Jones (6-foot-5) joins Keshon Gilbert (G – UNLV) and Jackson Paveletzke (G – Wofford) as the transfer portal class for the Cyclones this offseason. Jones averaged 15.0 points, 4.8 rebounds and 3.0 assists for the Bulls.

Jones has two years of eligibility remaining.
