Hunter Dickinson

With the transfer portal closing in nine days, college basketball news is starting to wind down but there are still moves being made. Let’s take a look at what’s happening around the Big 12 the last couple of days.

No. 1 Transfer Hunter Dickinson Heads to Kansas

The No. 1 transfer in the portal Hunter Dickinson has committed to Kansas after a long awaited recruitment.

Dickinson (7-foot-1) averaged 18.5 points, 9.0 rebounds and 1.8 blocks this past season for the Wolverines. Dickinson shot 56 percent from the field and 42 percent from three.

Dickinson joins Nick Timberlake (Towson) and Arterio Morris (Texas) for Kansas’ transfer class this offseason.

Kansas State Picks Up UNT G Tylor Perry

With Markquis Nowell out of eligibility, Jerome Tang has found his next point guard. North Texas transfer guard Tylor Perry chose K-State over Texas Tech, Ole Miss and Florida on Tuesday night.

Perry (5-foot-11) brings a similar scoring style to Nowell. Obviously, the comparison of a small guard under 6-foot will be talked about. Perry averaged 17.3 points on 44 percent shooting from the field and 41 percent from three. Perry helped lead UNT to an NIT Championship this past postseason. Perry leaves North Texas after head coach Grant McCasland took the Texas Tech job.

Kansas State is waiting on Keyonte Johnson to decide if he’s returning to Manhattan. If so, the Wildcats have a solid core coming back for the 2023-24 season.

5-Star HS Prospect Yves Missi Reclassifies to 2023

Top big man high school prospect Yves Missi announced on Wednesday that he will be reclassifying up to the 2023 class, joining Baylor’s program a year earlier. Missi will be needed for Scott Drew and the Bears this next season.

Missi (6-foot-10) is a 5-star prospect from Napa, Ca.

The Bears now have four commitments for the 2023 class, including high school and the transfer portal. Missi joins 5-star G Ja’Kobe Walter and 4-star G Miro Little. VCU transfer Jayden Nunn also committed to the program two weeks ago.

Baylor is also waiting on Jalen Bridges and Adam Flagler to decide on their NBA Draft aspirations.

BYU Receives Commitment from Transfer Ques Glover

BYU will be entering the Big 12 next season with a new point guard in Ques Glover. Glover is transferring to BYU from Samford.

Glover (5-foot-11) has spent the last two seasons at Samford after starting out his collegiate career at Florida. Glover averaged 14.7 points, 2.5 rebounds and 2.1 assists through 19 games. During his junior season, Glover averaged 19.2 points on 47 percent shooting from the field. The Knoxville, Tn. native has one year of eligibility left.
