Big 12 matchups

The Big 12 Conference has released the matchups for men’s basketball. With the addition of BYU, Cincinnati, Houston and UCF, the Big 12 will have 14 teams for one basketball season. The round-robin with 10 teams is no more.

Here’s who West Virginia will play at home and away this upcoming conference season:

Home and Away: Cincinnati, Kansas State, Texas, TCU, UCF
Home only: Baylor, BYU, Kansas, Texas Tech
Away only: Houston, Iowa State, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State

Off first glance, West Virginia fans can be happy to see that a trip to Allen Fieldhouse and Utah is out of the question. WVU will play Texas twice and Oklahoma once in Norman before both schools depart for the SEC next summer.

West Virginia will also host former Mountaineers Jalen Bridges (Baylor) and Joe Toussaint (Texas Tech) back to the coliseum.

WVU interim head coach Josh Eilert is heading into his 17th season, first with the new title. Eilert and his coaching staff currently have four spots to fill on the roster after Bob Huggins’ resignation last month. West Virginia currently has the second-best transfer class in the country, according to 247 Sports.
