Following West Virginia’s fifth-straight loss in Big 12 play against Oklahoma on Saturday, head coach Bob Huggins was very optimistic on the radio about the future of this team. Huggins asked for the fans’ continued support.

“Hopefully our fans will continue to support us and be a part of this turnaround,” Huggins said about hosting TCU this upcoming Wednesday.

West Virginia missed key free throws at the end of the game against the Sooners, costing them another game in the losing streak. Huggins doesn’t know what he can do to get them to make more. The Basketball Hall of Famer doesn’t want to make them run after every missed free throw because of the brutal schedule they’re in.

“I don’t know what to say, I don’t know what to do. Make a 100 [before leaving the gym], not shooting 100,” Huggins said. “If you miss, you run.”

Huggins went on to talk about how they are in fact not the worst team in the league despite the 0-5 start. Huggins is very optimistic still about this team’s future.

“I think what people don’t understand is that we have such a mix of guys. I think, for all the doubters out there, we’re going to be a good team,” Huggins said.
