CINCINNATI — Cincinnati was able to cruise to a 92-56 win over WVU on Saturday afternoon in the regular season finale.

With the loss, West Virginia (9-22, 4-14 Big 12) moves to 2-25 in their last 27 Big 12 road games, dating back to the 2021-22 season. WVU also recorded their 22nd loss on Saturday, which marks the most in a single season.

Cincinnati (18-13, 7-11 Big 12) scored 27 points off turnovers as WVU turned it over 16 times. The Bearcats also outscored the Mountaineers 48-14.

Cincinnati G Simas Lukosius hit a transition three-pointer in the opening stages of the game to put the Bearcats up 9-2, which resulted in a timeout by WVU interim HC Josh Eilert. Lukosius hit 3-threes during Saturday’s game, finishing with 12 points.

WVU senior guard Noah Farrakhan led the way for the Mountaineers with 12 points on 5-of-9 shooting. Farrakhan, who’s averaging 7.9 points on the season, looked more confident throughout Saturday’s matchup.

Eilert and WVU G Kerr Kriisa were each called for a technical foul in the first half after disputing calls.

WVU G Kobe Johnson connected on a layup in the final seconds of the first half to take the Mountaineers into the break down seven.

Former WVU and Cincinnati HC Bob Huggins was in attendance to see his former teams face off at Fifth Third Arena.

In the first meeting, West Virginia defeated UC 69-65 in Morgantown on Jan. 31. The Bearcats went cold in the final six minutes, connecting on just two field goals during that span.

West Virginia will have a couple of days off before playing in the opening round of the Big 12 Tournament. WVU’s opponent will be official once the Saturday slate of Big 12 games are completed.
