The West Virginia Mountaineers (18-12, 3-5) dropped game two to the No. 25 Oklahoma State Cowboys (19-10, 6-2) Saturday afternoon 9-5. WVU led 5-0 through four innings, but nine unanswered runs from OSU evened the series.

After scoring 10 runs in the first five innings Friday night, the Mountaineers continued their momentum in game two.

Marcus Inman started the second inning on a single to left field. Then with one out, WVU got four straight singles from Ivan Gonzalez, Kevin Brophy, Tevin Tucker and Austin Davis to produce three runs on five hits.

In the top of the fourth, Ivan Gonzalez reached on a single and Kevin Brophy extended the Mountaineer lead to 5-0, blasting a two-run homerun over the left-centerfield wall.

Oklahoma State got on the board in the sixth with a double from Hueston Morrill, and Andrew Navigato brought him in on a single to leftfield.

The Cowboys gained momentum on several Mountaineer mistakes in the sixth. After back-to-back base hits from Alix Garcia and Trevor Boone with one out, Cade Cabiness hit a grounder back to WVU pitcher Jackson Wolfe and threw it over to second for the double play, and as shortstop Tevin Tucker went to throw it to first, he dropped the ball loading the bases.

Wolfe walked in a run, then Noah Sifrit hit a grounder to second, Tyler Doanes fielded it  and made the throw over to second, but the throw to first was not in time. Another run scored on the play as the throw home to catcher Ivan Gonzalez was on time, but the ball was bobbled to give OSU a three-run inning.

Oklahoma State took the game over in the 8th inning scoring 5 runs including a grand slam from Colin Simpson as the Cowboys even the series 1-1 with a 9-5 win.

A series deciding game three will be Sunday at 1:00 pm est inside Allie P. Reynolds Stadium.
