Colby Dempsey, a 2020 defensive back from West Palm Beach, Florida, already holds an extensive offer list. Michigan, Minnesota, Kentucky, and many other schools are interested.

After a recent chat with assistant coach Travis Trickett, Dempsey has added West Virginia to the list of programs looking for his talents.

“It’s a great offer,” Dempsey said of the Mountaineers. “I love it. I think [West Virginia] is a really good school.”

The 5-foot-11, 170-pound Florida product is already considered one of the state’s top recruits, but insists he still has room to grow before beginning his college career.

“Speed, strength, quickness, and vertical — everything can get improved on,” Dempsey said.

Dempsey doesn’t have a decision date set, but added that when the time comes, he’ll be looking for a school that expresses “genuine love.”

Dempsey, who posted 10 interceptions during his senior season, is planning a trip to Morgantown in the near future.
