Former West Virginia offensive lineman Tairiq Stewart announced on Twitter Thursday that he has entered his name into the NCAA transfer portal.

Stewart committed to WVU as a junior college recruit in 2020 after playing two seasons at ASA Brooklyn. A Cleveland, Ohio native originally, Stewart did not appear in a game for the Mountaineers last season.

There should be a battle ar both tackle spots of WVU’s offensive line for next season. Third-year players Brandon yates and Parker Moorer, Virginia transfer Ja’Quay Hubbard, Virginia Tech transfer Doug Nester and true freshman Wyatt Milum are all expected to compete for playing time.
