Ray moved into a larger role this season, making 28 receptions for 426 yards and four scores before his season was cut short due to an injury against Baylor.
Rayโs standout game as a Mountaineer came in the 2023 Dukeโs Mayo Bowl, where he scored a 75-yard touchdown on the first play of the game and finished with a career-high 91 yards.
Ray developed a close friendship with fellow members of former WVU head coach Neal Brownโs 2023 class Rodney Gallagher and Jahiem White, who both decided to stay at West Virginia and play for Rich Rodriguez.
