Another now former Mountaineer Trey Lathan has found a new home. Lathan signed with Kansas to stay within the Big 12 on Tuesday, per 247 Sports.

Lathan entered the transfer portal three weeks ago on Dec. 18.

Lathan (6-foot-1, 226 pounds) started 17 games during his West Virginia career and still has two more years left of eligibility. He recorded 79 total tackles, two sacks and a forced fumble in 2024.

Lathan, a Goulds, Fla. native, made 27 tackles in 2023 before suffering a season ending injury at TCU. He registered seven total tackles in West Virginiaโ€™s Frisco Bowl loss on Dec. 17.

โ€œFootball is my life, but I learned my life isnโ€™t over. It put it in perspective.. during those 5-6 months I had to really focus on my life and getting it back on track,โ€ said Lathan while opening up about his recovery process ahead of the 2024 season in April.
