Four Mountaineers Ranked Nationally as WVU Prepares for 2021 Big 12 Championships

The West Virginia wrestling team saw four grapplers ranked in final set of national polls before the conference tournament in Tulsa, Oklahoma on March 6-7. The Old Gold and Blue will send 10 wrestlers to compete in Tulsa. WVU ended its 2021 regular season at 7-3, 3-2 in the Big 12 on the year.

Additionally, pre-seeds and brackets have been released for the 2021 Big 12 Championships. Five WVU wrestlers were awarded top-six seeds for the conference tournament. Read more about the pre-seeds here.

Looking ahead, WVU will have more than a week off before traveling to St. Louis, Missouri for the 2021 NCAA Division I Wrestling Championship, March 18-20.

The Division I Wrestling Committee will meet to select the remaining at-large qualifiers to fill out the 33-man bracket in each weight class, which will be announced March 10, via NCAA livestream while brackets and seeding will be announced on NCAA.com at 4 p.m. March 11.
