Jerry West Eligible For 2024 Basketball Hall of Fame as Contributor

WVU legend Jerry West is eligible for the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame Class of 2024 as a contributor. This is West’s first year eligible in this position. West was inducted into the Hall of Fame as a player back in 1980.

West joins the 2008 U.S. Olympic Team, Vince Carter (player), Seimone Augustus (player), Bill Laimbeer (player), Rick Barnes (coach), Mike Fratello (contributor), Penny Taylor (contributor) and others as first-time eligible candidates.

West spent 39 seasons with the Lakers organization, playing from 1960-74, coaching from 1976-79 and served as the executive from 1979-2000. West won six NBA Championships with his time spent with the Lakers before serving as an executive for the Memphis Grizzlies, Golden State Warriors and Los Angeles Clippers. West was a 14-time NBA All-Star, won the 1969 NBA Finals MVP and had his No. 44 retired by the franchise. West was named to the NBA 75th Anniversary Team back in 2022.
