Meet the 2026 WVU Basketball Team: Consistent Scoring Threat Finley Bizjack
WVU basketball suffered in the scoring category last season, averaging just 70.6 points per game. In the offseason, head coach Ross Hodge brought in senior guard Finley Bizjack to help solve that problem.
Bizjack joins WVU after playing all of his three prior seasons at Butler, where he carved out a role for his entire tenure. In the 2023-24 season, he earned a spot on the Big East All-Freshman Team after averaging 4.2 points per game while appearing in all 33 games.
As a sophomore, Bizjack broke into double-digit scoring with 10.3 points per game. In his final season at Butler, his production truly picked up when he led the Bulldogs with 17.1 points per game which was third in the Big East. His efforts earned him a spot on the All-Big East Third Team.
Bizjack’s stellar scoring performances included 11 games of scoring 20 or more points with a season-high 30 points against Providence. WVU fans will also be glad to hear that Bizjack finished last season shooting 85% from the free throw line while shooting 90% in conference play.
Bizjack is no stranger to showing up in the big moments, making splash plays as early as his freshman year with his season-high 19 points against No. 10 Marquette. As a sophomore, he hit six three-pointers en route to 30 points against Boise State in the 2025 College Basketball Crown.
Even with his scoring success, Bizjack manages to find his teammates for scoring opportunities as well. He averaged 2.5 assists per game this year with five outings recording five or more.
It’s easy to see on film how comfortable he is with the ball in his hands, operating as a primary ball-handler much of this past season. His ability to create shots for himself while also getting the ball to his teammates in creative ways should prove useful for the Mountaineers this season.
