WVU Basketball Announces Signing of ‘Unique Playmaker’ Finley Bizjack
WVU basketball coach Ross Hodge announced the signing of Finley Bizjack to a grant-in-aid to join the Mountaineers in 2026-27.
Bizjack, a 6-foot-4, 190-pound senior from Trophy Club, Texas, will come to Morgantown from Butler, where he played the last three seasons.
“We are excited to have Finley Bizjack join our basketball program,” Hodge said in a statement. “Finley is a unique playmaker who can score and get others involved. Mountaineer fans are going to love watching the passion he plays with every night.”
Bizjack committed right after his weekend visit in Morgantown. Known for efficient offensive prowess, Bizjack became a starter for the Bulldogs the last two years after seeing limited action off the bench as a freshman.
His best shooting season was during the 2024-25 campaign when he shot 44% from the floor and 42% from three. Last season, he dipped to a 42.6%, but upped his points per game from 10.3 to 17.1.
This past season, Bizjack was named to the All-Big East Third Team, leading Butler in scoring at 17.1 points per game. He scored the 1,000th point of his career against DePaul in his 97th career game.
Bizjack matched his career high with 30 points at Providence this season and also had 30 points against Boise State in the quarterfinals of the 2025 College Basketball Crown. He was named Big East Player of the Week on Jan. 26 after scoring 28 points against Marquette and 24 points against DePaul.
He has scored double figures in 48 games and has 12 20-point games so far in his career. Bizjack had 29 points against Eastern Michigan, 26 points against Providence and had 25 points in the Greenbrier Tip-Off win over Virginia.
For his career, he has played in 98 games with 61 starts, shooting 42.5% from the field, 36.1% from 3 and 81.3% from the free throw line while dishing out 190 assists.
Bizjack played for Team USA in the 2024 U23 Nations League Americas 3×3 event and was selected to the 2023-24 Big East All-Freshman Team.
Bizjack attended Byron Nelson and holds career school records with 2,832 points, 275 3-point field goals and 435 assists. He was a finalist for the Texas Class 6A Boys Basketball Player of the Year and was a 2022-23 All-State selection by the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches.
