Miles McBride Hypes Up Recruiting Success for WVU Basketball
WVU basketball fans and media are far from the only ones noticing what Ross Hodge has been cooking up all offseason. Alumni, even one busy helping his team advance in the NBA playoffs, is impressed with what he’s seeing from the Mountaineers.
Former West Virginia guard and current New York Knicks sixth-man Miles “Deuce” McBride couldn’t resist expressing his approval.
“Cooking. Love to see it!!,” posted McBride over a graphic with a clear message about the state of the WVU basketball program.
“IS WVU BASKETBALL BACK?! Ross Hodge has assembled one of the most talented rosters WVU has seen in YEARS,” read the graphic that prompted McBride to chime in.ย
In addition to signing a five-star in Miles Sadler to headline the 2026 high school class, WVU has put together a solid portal class of Georgia Tech center Mohammad Sylla, St. Johnโs guard Joson Sanon, Utah forward Seydou Traore, Boise State guard Javan Buchanan, FSU guard Martin Somerville and Butler guard Finley Bizjack.
College basketball analyst Jeff Goodman recently offered high praise of his own for Hodge and his staff, listing West Virginia as a top five offseason winner in the latest episode of the Field of 68: After Dark.
