WVU Basketball announced on Wednesday that junior forward Gabe Osabuohien’s transfer waiver was accepted by the NCAA and will he be immediately eligible to play.

Osabuohien transferred to WVU after being dismissed from the Arkansas Razorbacks in August. Razorback head coach Eric Musselman did not disclose a reason for the dismissal. WVU had been waiting on the NCAA to make a decision on Osabuohien’s waiver as to whether or not he will play this season.

Osabuohien is from Toronto, Canada but played high school basketball at Southwest Christian Academy in Little Rock, Arkansas. In two seasons at Arkansas, Osabuohien averaged 2.4 points and 2.5 rebounds per game.

Osabuohien played in the team’s Gold-Blue preseason scrimmage, scoring seven points and grabbing eight rebounds for the victorious Gray team.

The Mountaineers play Boston University at the WVU Coliseum Friday. Tip-off is at 7 p.m.
