Pat McAfee high on WVU

Few in the national media believe in WVU this season, but Pat McAfee isn’t afraid to be the outlier and drop a hot take about his beloved Mountaineers.

McAfee said this on ESPN’s CollegeGameDay about West Virginia being a potential dark horse team in the Big 12: “It’s the West Virginia Mountaineers and Garrett Greene who are the dark horse in the Big 12. Gotta remember offensive line, they return all five starters. Got two All-Americans on there. Top 10 in the country in the offensive line. Use NIL money. Pay the running back.”

Some may say McAfee is simply just speaking with his heart, but he was incredibly critical of WVU throughout last season, going as far as to call West Virginia as his most disappointing team of the season. This even prompted Neal Brown being asked about McAfee’s comments at the time.

All Pat McAfee and WVU fans can do is wait to see if they can brag to others about being wrong or will be told they were just living in denial.
