Randy Moss Award Winner Malachi Thompson Commits to WVU

Wide receiver Malachi Thompson is staying in West Virginia, announcing his commitment to WVU on Sunday evening. The 2026 in-state prospect revealed his decision while going live on Instagram.
Thompson, a 6-foot-4, 200-pound product of Nitro High School, recently earned an offer after impressing the WVU coaching staff during a 7-on-7 camp for high school players.
West Virginia was his most prominent offer, but he was also recruited by smaller schools like Akron, Marshall, Ohio, Temple and Toledo.
Thompson may not be highly regarded nationally, but heโs one of the most prolific and accomplished current high school players in the state.
