Report: WVU Basketball Lands Commitment from 2024 C Abraham Oyeadier

WVU basketball has landed a commitment from 2024 big man Abraham Oyeadier, he told Chris Anderson of 247 Sports on Thursday afternoon. Oyeadier is a 6-foot-9 recruit from San Diego, Ca. where he played at Balboa City School.

During his recruitment, Oyeadier received interest from Pepperdine and UC Irvine. Oyeadier was not ranked on any of the recruiting databases. Check out a few highlights from Oyeadier’s X post below.

WVU HC Darian DeVries mentioned to the media that he was not done adding to the roster. Since taking over, DeVries had 11 scholarship players on roster, 10 which who are new to the program.

“We’re still very much actively recruiting,” DeVries said in July. “There’s some multiple players that we’re still trying to recruit and get them here by the start of school.”

During the spring, West Virginia’s staff dove right into the transfer portal, landing Tucker DeVries (G – Drake), Sencire Harris (G – Illinois), Amani Hansberry (F – Illinois), Toby Okani (F – UIC), Eduardo Andre (C – Fresno State), Javon Small (G – Oklahoma State), Joseph Yesufu (G – Washington State) and Jayden Stone (G – Detroit Mercy). Scholarship freshmen Jonathan Powell (G) and KJ Tenner (G) committed to DeVries’ staff out of high school. WVU’s staff also brought in Jake Auer (G) and Dylan Jay (G) this offseason.

WVU F Ofri Naveh is the only returning player from last season’s team.
