While not actually from West Virginia, Hamilton is from Cumberland, Maryland, which is very close to Morgantown, West Virginia. Before deciding to come to WVU last year, he also received offers from St. Francis (PA), Robert Morris and Southern Utah.
Hamilton has the rare distinction of being able to say he played against WVU and also played for the Mountaineers. He appeared for Towson against WVU early in the 2022 season. He caught a pass for five yards on the year.
