The WVU women’s basketball team dropped three spots in this week’s AP Top 25 Poll following a disappointing loss at Oklahoma State. The Mountaineers (13-3, 3-2 Big 12) come in at No. 20 in the poll this week, down three spots from last week’s No. 17 ranking.

The ranking came out just days after WVU blew a double-digit lead to lose 64-57 on the road at Oklahoma State on Saturday. The Mountaineers made less than 35% of their shots from the floor, including a brutal 21.9% in the second half.

Kylee Blacksten finished with a team-high 16 points as the only Mountaineer to make more than half of her shots, 6-11. She was also 4-9 from three-point range.

West Virginia dominated its other game last week, crushing Texas Tech 89-53 in Lubbock on Wednesday. The Mountaineers opened the game on a 20-2 run, scoring the first 11 points of the game.

JJ Quinerly led the field with 21 points on an efficient 7-of-9 shooting, while Jordan Harrison and Sydney Shaw slotted in just behind her with 20 and 19 points, respectively.

WVU actually rose in the NCAA’s NET Rankings this week, moving from No. 15 to No. 13.

The Mountaineers will look to avenge one of their losses this season on Wednesday when they host Colorado in the Coliseum at 7 p.m. The Buffaloes beat the Mountaineers at home 65-60 last month.

Other Big 12 teams in the top 25 include No. 10 TCU, No. 11 Kansas State, No. 23 Utah and No. 24 Oklahoma State. Baylor received votes.
