Top JUCO Edge Rusher Jefferson Adam Secures Offer, Set to Visit WVU

Neal Brown and West Virginia seem to be drawing the attention of prominent Junior College defensive end Jefferson Adam.

Adam, a 6-foot-5, 230-pound recruit out of Hocking College in Nelsonville, Ohio, posted a picture on his Twitter account Wednesday night showing items he received from the Mountaineers coaching staff.

Adam secured an offer from West Virginia on Monday after receiving a phone call from Mountaineers defensive line coach Andrew Jackson before being visited at home by West Virginia assistant head coach Matt Moore a few hours later. Adam then announced he would be visiting Morgantown this week.

This upcoming weekend is the final opportunity for official visits before the February signing period. Adam will be in Indiana, so making a trip to West Virginia during the next three days would be his only chance to meet Brown and the rest of the staff.

Adam has also previously visited Ball State, Buffalo and Iowa State.

With the Mountaineers desperately needing help on their defensive line, Adam could provide valuable experience attained from already playing two seasons at Hocking College.

The Ypsilanti, Michigan, native compiled 18 tackles and 9.5 sacks in 15 total games played with the Hawks. Adam added 3.5 tackles for loss, two forced fumbles and a fumble recovery.

Adam currently has a three-star rating on 24/7 Sports, while being ranked as the No. 1 edge rusher in Michigan and No. 4 in the nation at the position. He holds 23 FBS offers, including Power Five invites from Michigan, California and Indiana, along with West Virginia.
