New Hampshire guard K.J. McClurg entered the transfer portal on Monday night. The Morgantown native spent two seasons with the Wildcats under head coach Bill Herrion.

“First off I would like to thank the coaches at the University of New Hampshire and my teammates, without them I wouldn’t be the player I am today,” McClurg wrote in a tweet. “After long talks with my family I have decided that it would be best if I put my name into the transfer portal with 4 year of eligibility remaining!!”

McClurg played his freshman year at New Hampshire, appearing in 15 games and starting in three. The 6-foot-4 guard averaged 4.1 points, 0.9 rebounds and 0.3 assists per game.

McClurg graduated from University High School in Morgantown, totaling up 1,294 points under Joe Schmidle. McClurg helped UHS win the state championship in 2019, his junior season. McClurg had 21.4 points, 4.7 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 2.5 steals per game. McClurg was named to the West Virginia All-State First Team in 2020.
