Troops singing Country Roads

You never know when you might randomly hear someone start singing “Take Me Home, Country Roads” out of nowhere. So on a day designated to celebrate America’s independence, it’s only fitting to share a special occurrence of a group of people breaking out into the song.

In a viral video shared across social media, members of the United States military started singing the song synonymous with West Virginia and WVU as they were headed home from deployment on a plane.

“They sang ‘Take Me Home, Country Roads’ on their way back to West Virginia from deployment,” said the official Barstool Sports account while sharing the video.

Someone then replied to a post with the video with their own emotional thoughts. “Goosebumps! There is absolutely NOTHING like hearing the words. You’re now entering US airspace after being gone for over a year.”

Happy Independence Day to all Americans and a message of thanks to anyone who has served the country.
