Maryland is in the rear-view mirror, it’s time for Mountaineer football at Milan-Puskar Stadium.

West Virginia will open its home slate of games Saturday against Long Island Post, and 60,000 fans will pour into Milan Puskar to deliver one of the most electric atmospheres in college football.

With the COVID-19 situation surrounding college football changing since last season, WVU will return to normal operations, with a complete game-day experience and tailgating before games.

However, WVU still encourages all fans to be vaccinated. Additionally, in conjunction with CDC and Monongalia County Health Department, WVU recommends that vaccinated and unvaccinated fans wear masks when indoors while recommending that unvaccinated wear masks even when outdoors — such as in the parking lot or the stadium.

WVU encourages all fans to monitor their condition before arriving at the stadium and to stay home if experiencing any symptoms.

In non COVID-related news, stadium operations will return to normal with 100% capacity. Parking lots will open at 7 a.m. Saturday with full tailgating. The new Hall of Traditions will open three hours before kickoff, the Chick-Fil-A Kids Zone will be held at the Caperton Indoor Practice Facility two and a half hours before kickoff and the Mountaineer Mantrip will occur two hours and 45 minutes before kickoff.

A clear bag policy remains in effect, and fans are encouraged to reduce the number of items brought to the game with them to minimize contact points and bag searches.
