Even though the Mountaineers have two quarterbacks with plenty of eligibility left competing for the starting role on the current roster, that doesn’t mean the program is done recruiting the position for the future.

Hauss Hejny, a class of 2024 quarterback prospect from Aledo, Texas who is already committed to Duke, announced that West Virginia has now sent him an offer. He tweeted that the offer came after a conversation with WVU quarterbacks coach Sean Reagan Thursday evening.

Listed at 5’11”, 185 pounds, Hejny is a dual threat, much the same way incumbent quarterbacks Garrett Greene and Nicco Marchiol are, and could actually be a perfect fit in the new West Virginia offense, one to be led by offensive coordinator Chad Scott and incorporate involvement from head coach Neal Brown.

Hejny is considered among the top 50 quarterbacks in the country by Rivals, placing him at number 37.

Despite being committed to Duke, Hejny has offers from major programs like Baylor, California, Nebraska, Oklahoma State, TCU, Utah and Texas A&M to also contemplate.
