West Virginia Moves Up in ESPN’s Latest Bracketology Projection

West Virginia secured a crucial road win over Iowa State on Monday night. Just hours later, ESPN bracketologist Joe Lunardi upgraded WVU to “last four byes.”

Prior to the Iowa State game, Lunardi marked WVU as one of the last teams in the field. West Virginia now has five quad-1 wins. WVU’s NET ranking increased by three spots to No. 23.
The Mountaineers are in prime position to return to the NCAA Tournament as long as they take care of business. First, they will host No. 11 Kansas State at home on Saturday for Senior Day. Then, the Mountaineers will hit the road to travel to Kansas City for the Big 12 Conference Tournament.
