Where 2025-26 WVU Recruiting Classes Stand After Brown’s Dismissal
Earlier this week, West Virginia let go of head coach Neal Brown following a 37-35 six-year tenure with the Mountaineers. As is the case anytime a head coach is dismissed, future recruiting classes get shaken up, with many players de-committing following the loss of the head coach they wanted to play for.
As things stand, only a few players have de-committed for the next two recruiting classes, granted the only two 2026 players were among them. One of the 2025 commits, however, currently ranks as the No. 47 (2025) on 247Sports following the movements.
In the midst of the chaos, WV Sports Now has compiled a list of all the players who have de-committed, remain committed, or have “opened their recruitment” following the firing.
