WVSN Staff Change: WV Sports Now Welcomes Back Cody Nespor
With WVU basketball season on the horizon, WV Sports Now is undergoing a staff change. As he’s already announced on his own social media, Ethan Bock is moving on for an opportunity back home in Cincinnati.
We all appreciate Ethan’s contributions to WV Sports Now over the years, most notably his basketball coverage, and wish him luck in this next chapter.
Sad to lose Ethan but it's been great working so closely with him and watching him grow as a journalist. I hope I was able to play a role in his development. Best of luck and enjoy the Skyline…. https://t.co/4etebWUS05

In light of Ethan’s departure, we are proud to welcome back a familiar name to longtime readers of WV Sports Now. WVSN has hired, or re-hired, Cody Nespor to return to the network.
Cody’s first day back with WVSN will be on Monday, Oct. 27. Instead of just directly replacing Ethan as men’s basketball beat writer, Cody will serve as the No. 2 voice of the network behind managing editor Mike Asti.
Readers, viewers, subscribers etc. should expect to see his byline across sports, granted that will certainly include WVU basketball. He will also serve as co-host of WVSN’s podcast Mountaineer Report, which can be found on our YouTube channel and in an audio-only form everywhere you can find podcasts.
For those unfamiliar with Cody, here’s his biography below:
Born in Mercer, Pa., Cody graduated from Slippery Rock University with a degree in digital media production in 2018 before moving on to obtain a master’s degree in journalism from WVU in 2020.
Aside from serving as the lead writer on WVSN from 2019-21, Cody worked as a sports writer in Wheeling, W.Va. in 2021 and 2022 and most recently spent two years as the sports editor of the Morgantown Dominion Post as the newspaper’s lead WVU football writer. He has been both a Heisman Trophy and AP Top 25 voter.
In total, Cody has lived in West Virginia for the last six years and has been covering WVU athletics in one way or another for the last five.
