Starting on Thursday, college basketball coaches may reach out directly to the class of 2025. NCAA allows coaches to contact rising juniors in high school every June 15.

This is a crucial day for high school basketball recruiting as the first schools to contact the prospect can go a long way.

West Virginia has set their attention to the 2024 and 2025 classes as they finalize their current roster through the transfer portal. WVU’s coaching staff has seen change as long-time assistants Erik Martin and Larry Harrison are both no longer on the team. Former Cincinnati Director of Player Development DerMarr Johnson was hired to replace Harrison on staff back in January. Johnson has used his connections in the DMV area to begin recruiting prospects.

WVU has extended offers to Cooper Flagg (5-star), Darryn Peterson (5-star), Alier Maluk (5-star), Jasper Johnson (5-star), Danny Carbuccia (4-star), Cam Ward (4-star), Trent Sisley (4-star), Chance Mallory (NR), Kayden Edwards (NR), Ace Flagg (NR) and EJ Walker (NR).

Maluk and Walker have made unofficial visits to West Virginia while Bob Huggins has watched Cooper Flagg on multiple occasions.
