WVU Basketball Drops Slightly in KenPom After Clemson Collapse

The WVU basketball team went from No. 61 to No. 62 in KenPom after giving up an 11-point lead to Clemson for the team’s first loss Friday.

WVU holds a net rating of 13.97.

Going into the matchup with Clemson to open up the 2025 Charleston Classic, West Virginia had a resume with  a 70-54 win over Mount Saint Mary’s, a 73-65 win over Campbell, a 69-47 victory over Lehigh, a 71-49 domination of Pitt in the Backyard Brawl and then a 81-59 blowout win over Lafayette on Monday.

WVU started last season at No. 87 in the KenPom rankings and ended at No. 51.

This season marks the first year of Ross Hodge at the helm of WVU with the program seeing its fourth head coach in as many years.

Looking at the rest of the Big 12, Houston is No. 4, Arizona is No. 5, BYU is No. 7, Iowa State is No. 10, Baylor is No. 21, Kansas is No. 28, Texas Tech is No. 31, Cincinnati is No. 45, Kansas State is No, 47, Oklahoma State is No. 52, and UCF is behind WVU at No. 68.
