MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – As expected, Jimmori Robinson is listed on WVU’s dressed roster ahead of the Backyard Brawl. This makes Robinson making his debut today more of a possibility.

A day after WVU fans started dreaming of watching Jimmori Robinson play as a Mountaineer, Rich Rodriguez dumped some cold water to wake them up earlier in the week.

While Rodriguez said he expected Robinson to be cleared, he was hesitant to confirm the news and believes thereโ€™s still a question if Robinson will be available for Saturday. WVU defensive coordinator Zac Alley added that Tuesday marked the first day he was able to see Robinson in action on the practice field, something that tips off his standing as being eligible and working towards playing.

Robinson was one of four Mountaineers forced to file a lawsuit against the NCAA to earn eligibility. As of last week, all four players were all officially placed on West Virginiaโ€™s current 2025 roster.

But unlike the others, Robinson has been unable to join the team up until this point due to a discrepancy about his academics. Prior to this week, Rodriguez last spoke publicly about Robinsonโ€™s situation leading up to the Ohio game, saying he expected to hear an update before the Ohio game. That update never came and West Virginia lost to the Bobcats, 17-10.

In the middle of the hearing about the four WVU players fighting for eligibility, an NCAA lawyer dropped a bomb the initial bomb about Robinsonโ€™s academic eligibility.

Justin Harrington, Tye Edwards and Jeffrey Weimer were the other players involved in the lawsuit.

Robinson was always viewed as the most important player among the group, with some believing he could become a star pass rusher in the Big 12.
