WVU F Tre Mitchell Seen Warming Up Prior to Season Opener
Just an hour before West Virginia and Mount St. Mary’s tipoff the 2022-23 season, WVU F Tre Mitchell was warming up during shoot around. Mitchell has been out of action for the last few weeks with a foot injury.

Mitchell was listed as a game-time decision on Monday morning by Jeff Goodman of Stadium. Mitchell has missed the preseason public festivities throughout October. WVU head coach Bob Huggins mentioned last week that Mitchell has not practiced since his injury. Mitchell missed the Gold-Blue Debut, Dayton ‘secret scrimmage’ and the Bowling Green exhibition.
Mitchell averaged 8.7 points and 4.0 rebounds on 48 percent shooting last season for Texas.
It does appear that forward Patrick Suemnick will be out for the season opener.
Suemnick comes to West Virginia from Triton College (JUCO) as a sophomore. The 6-foot-8 forward began his collegiate career at Robert Morris before going to the JUCO level. Suemnick averaged 12.0 points and 6.1 rebounds for Triton. Suemnick led the Trojans to the Final Four in the NJCAA Tournament.
