Mountaineers in the Pros
WVU Fans React to Joe Mazzulla Leading Boston Celtics to NBA Finals
The improbable story of Joe Mazzulla coaching the Boston Celtics will reach the NBA Finals. After Boston finished off a sweep of the Indiana Pacers 105-102 on Sunday night, Mazzulla became the youngest head coach to lead a team to the NBA Finals since Bill Russell in 1969.
Since Mazzulla is a former Mountaineer, WVU fans joined the rest of the basketball world and took their reactions and support of one of their own to social media.
Joe Mazzulla's improbable coaching career reaches the NBA Finals. For a Rhode Island native, this has to be a dream come true, granted he certainly won't admit that just yet. This is like a movie.

Love seeing this team rally around Joe Mazzulla on live TV. He deserves it! He's so much better than the public gives him credit for, and, by the way – he has the best playoff record of any head coach in NBA history.
