WVU Football to Hold Concert to Wrap Up Gold-Blue Spring Festival
Headlining the Gold-Blue Spring Festival, for the first time ever, will be a free postgame concert for WVU football fans on Mountaineer Field featuring Jake Owen. Admission is free to the public. The concert will take place from 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. on April 18th following the conclusion of the game at approximately 1:30 p.m.
West Virginia head coach Rich Rodriguez let the cat out of the bag about the label change and the date during his first press conference of the spring on Tuesday, March 3.
He also said that the plan is for a scrimmage to be played, kinda like what was done last year, but to heavily lean on making it a fan-friendly atmosphere. West Virginia hopes to make the annual spring event something fans can look forward to, even if it canโt be exactly like how it was in the past.
Of course, Rodriguez may even be more willing to show more in the scrimmage part of the day since, unlike like last year, since thereโs no spring transfer portal window for him to be concerned about. His roster will be what it is for the most part at that point.
