Leading to even more change on the WVU football roster, linebacker Curtis Jones has entered the transfer portal.

Jones’ departure creates another hole in the linebacker room and also takes away a versatile player from the overall team.

In addition to playing a bandit role on defense, Jones was utilized as a short yardage running back due to a depleted depth chart with injuries.

Jones recorded 22 total tackles, two pass deflections, one sack and one forced fumble while also running for 24 yards and scoring three touchdowns.

A three-star recruit out of Huntington, W.Va., Jones earned recognition from the Mountaineers for his contributions on two separate occasions, receiving the team’s Blue Collar award against Arizona and the Defensive Champion award against Albany.
