WVU Football Reveals Uniform Look for Home Finale

New WVU Football Blue Uniform

In their final home game of the 2024 season, WVU will sport a traditional look with all blue outlined by plenty of gold.

As always, the program posted a video to reveal the uniform on social media.

Now officially eliminated from the conference race, the theme of the week for WVU football is clear – no excuses. From head coach Neal Brown down to the players, they know they haven’t been good enough, especially at home. But instead of dwelling in the past, they’re now just simply focused on winning their final home game of 2024 season this coming Saturday against UCF.

“We should play better at home. I think that criticism is fair,” said Brown while providing a blunt assessment that all fans will universally agree with at this point.

And aside from playing quality opponents – three of WVU’s five home games so far have been against ranked teams, the issue has been a lack of consistency. When the offense is clicking, the defense and/or specials teams is struggling and vice versa.

“We’ve been an inconsistent football team and that’s why we’re 5-5,” said Brown.

WVU Football Coaches, Players Own Inconsistent Season, Striving for Bowl Game

Most major sportsbooks view West Virginia as an underdog to UCF. Both DraftKings and FanDuel opened their lines with the Knights as a -3.

West Virginia is on the heels of a 49-35 loss to Baylor while the Knights are coming off a bye. At 4-6, UCF needs to win out in order to be eligible for a bowl game.

Kickoff between the Mountaineers and Knights is set for 3:30 pm ET and the game will air on ESPNU.

For a related story, Garrett Greene was ‘okay, not good enough’ in his return for WVU football.

I’m not so sure that Neal Brown won’t be back next year or in 2026; unless Wren Baker and the major donors to the NIL can get rid of Brown without having to pay him off and still have the money for a true P4 Head coach.
I’m definitely over the climb and all the excuses as to why the Mountaineers are not capable of winning against the middle tiers of the BIGXII conference.
But I believe that we need to start padding our schedule with less not conference teams like the other P4 teams in each conference is doing to get easy wins to start the season. Why play Penn state, Alabama or other majors unless we know that we have the players and coaches to make these games a possible win.
TV coverage is going to be there ,if we’re in the BIGXII.
