Successfully using the UFL as a path back to the NFL, Tony Fields II signed with the Chicago Bears on Tuesday. He played for the Columbus Aviators throughout the spring, earning Defensive Play of the Week honors at the end of April.

Fields decided to try to use the UFL as way to reset his career following a 2025 without earning any time in an NFL game. He spent the 2025 season on the Los Angeles Ramsโ€™ practice squad after being released by the Cleveland Browns in October of that year.

After finishing his college career at West Virginia, which included being selected to an All-Big 12 team, he was drafted by the Cleveland in the fifth round of the 2021 NFL Draft. Fieldsโ€™ best NFL season came in 2022 when he made 48 total tackles, picked off a pass and scored a touchdown. He totaled 88 tackles with 48 as solo, one forced fumble, two fumble recoveries and an interception during four years in Cleveland.
