WVU receivers coach Tyron Carrier to potentially follow Holgorsen to Houston

Houston, TX – As you all know by now, Dana Holgorsen is no longer the head football coach at West Virginia. Now, we wait to find out who will follow Holgorsen to Houston.

Tonight, we may have received a small hint. Holgorsen was in attendance for this evenings men’s basketball game vs Tulsa and he had some company with him. That company? Wide receivers coach Tyron Carrier and program assistant Daikiel Shorts Jr.

Mark Berman of FOX 26 (KRIV) caught up with Carrier and asked if he too, is on his way to Houston. “The chances are good, I’m back at home and this is my alma mater so this place is really special to me.” Carrier said.

You can watch the rest of the short interview here below.

Nothing is concrete, but it certainly sounds like he will follow Holgorsen to Houston, which doesn’t come as a shock considering he played there during his collegiate career.

Carrier was a huge part in the development of David Sills V transitioning to the wide receiver position and helping make Gary Jennings an extremely reliable target.

If Carrier and company are to leave Morgantown, expect some of that to become official sometime as early as the end of the week.
