2017 Mountie Awards Watchlist

Published

on

It’s that time of the year to release our 3rd Annual Preseason DVN Mountie Award Watchlist.

The nominees were voted on by Chris Hall and I and we will be releasing polls on Twitter and Facebook to see who you think will win the award at season’s end.  Now let’s take a close look at the awards, the nominees and our projected winners.

Breakout Player of the Year

Center, Matt Jones, r-So.

DB, Toyous Avery, r-Jr.

DB, Elijah Battle, Sr

WR, Ka’Raun White, r-Sr

Schuyler: Judging breakout players is a tough task, but I really love what I saw from Elijah Battle last year in the limited playing time he received. I believe he can fill the hole left by Rasul Douglas and be a lockdown defender. All four of these guys will have great years, but Battle really stands out to me, love the kids length.

Chris: Ka’Ruan White – We’ve seen flashes on how great he can be and with a new quarterback, I expect big things from Ka’Raun.
