WVU Football recruit Zae Jennings

WVU football secures a commitment from a versatile athlete in class of 2024 three-star Zae Jennings.

The 6-foot-2 and 192-pound Jennings tweeted a video and a letter to announce he’s picking West Virginia Wednesday afternoon. This comes just a few days after he left Morgantown, completing his official visit with the Mountaineers.

Ranked as a three-star prospect, Jennings attends Colerain High School in Cincinnati, Ohio. He has experience playing quarterback and running back, but was also recruited as a defensive player option.

Jennings said WVU head coach Neal Brown called him to let him know the Mountaineers were sending him an offer on January 28.

Jennings is listed among the top 35 players in his class from the state of Ohio by the main national recruiting outlets. 247 Sports places him at number 27, On3.com has him at 34 and Rivals has him at 32.

Jennings also had offers on the table from Akron, Austin Peay, Bowling Green, Central Michigan, Cincinnati, Eastern Michigan, JMU, Marshall, Massachusetts, Miami (OH), Purdue, Toledo and Western Michigan.
