2024 prospects Carmelo Adkins (CG) and Jinup Dobuol (F) both officially visited West Virginia over the weekend. The pair talked to WV Sports Now about their visit together.

Saturday’s schedule/thoughts on facilities:

Adkins: “At the practice facility I saw that West Virginia has a lot of resources that will help me become a better basketball player. When I saw the coliseum I didn’t realize how big the gym is and that caught my attention immediately. At the football game, I love how the fans were into the game, one of the best atmospheres I’ve been around.”

Dobuol: “I had breakfast with the coaching staff at first, then had a photo shoot, then I watched practice. The practice facility is really nice, I like how they do things in there. The coliseum is very nice and big. The football [game] was a great time. I was on the field with the players and had a fun time.”

On current players and staff:

Adkins: “What stuck out to me most from the visit was [the] hospitality from the players while I was there. They made me feel like I belong. I love Morgantown a lot, the fans are truly die-hard fans while I was walking with the players multiple students and parents gave their support for this year’s season.”

Dobuol: “I really like their play style. I feel like it fits mine perfectly and what’s unique about Morgantown is just how they all treat each other as a family.”

Conversations with staff:

Adkins: “The conversations I’ve had with the staff and players were great. I really like how they don’t sugarcoat anything, they tell you the truth and that’s all I could ask for.”

Dobuol: “Conversations were great with the coaches just how they were telling me I would do really good there just because of my size and how skilled and versatile I am. They didn’t promise me anything, [they were] saying come and earn your minutes. I like to hear that.”
