WVU Football LB recruit out of WPIAL Dayshaun Burnett

One of the top prospects out of Pittsburgh’s WPIAL in the Class of 2025 plans on announcing his college plans this week.

Dayshaun Burnett, a four-star linebacker from Imani Christian Academy, revealed today that will be making his college decision on Wednesday. Burnett tweeted that he’ll be making the decision public at 2:45 P.M. from his school.

Burnett plans on deciding between WVU, Kentucky, Pitt, Penn State and Rutgers. While Burnett attended multiple West Virginia games during the 2023 season, he appears to be a heavy lean toward Penn State at this point in his recruitment. Burnett’s announcement also comes on the heels of several top WPIAL recruits committing to Penn State recently.

He added “where’s home?” to his post about his announcement on X (Twitter). WVU has been in on Burnett for over a year, extending an offer on Aug. 6, 2022.

247Sports rates Burnett as the 325th-ranked recruit in the class (29th-ranked linebacker and eighth-ranked recruit from Pennsylvania) while On3 rates him as the 320th-ranked recruit in the class (35th-ranked linebacker and 10th-ranked recruit from Pennsylvania).

Rivals holds him as the 14th-ranked outside linebacker and seventh-ranked recruit from Pennsylvania — awarded a 5.8 Rivals Rating.
