ACC Transfer G Martin Somerville Commits to WVU Basketball

Going from the ACC to the Big 12, Florida State transfer guard Martin Somerville has committed to join the WVU basketball program. Somerville’s commitment was first reported by Joe Tipton of On3 Sports on Thursday afternoon.

West Virginia will now be third school for the 6-foot-3, 185-pound sophomore in as many seasons. In his lone year at Florida State, Somerville averaged 8.0 points, 3.0 rebounds and 2.4 assists in 33 games with 10 starts. Prior to jumping to the Power Four level, Somerville averaged 8.0 points, 3.7 assists, and 2.9 rebounds in 32 games at UMass Lowell.

Somerville was named the 2025 American East Rookie of the Year as a redshirt freshman.
